 HIV/AIDS is in South Africa the killer number one! 40% of the population are dying between 15 and 49 years because of AIDS.
Children are loosing their parents und therefore their homes! The use of condoms is saving life!
That's why Mohau e. V. started a Condom-Project in the squatter aeras of Atteridgeville!
Read what Sipho (we changed the name) is telling about his experience when he is distributing condoms with his friends in Atteridgeville:
„I really wished you all could see how happy the people are that we bring them the condoms. It is not always easy to get the condoms. I have to go to the Health Department with the taxi. Not every taxi has that much space that I can bring such a big box to my place. And the box is really heavy! Sometimes a friend of mine is helping me and he brings the wheelbarrow so I can take two boxes.
Sometimes the Health Department is on strike or they don't have condoms in the stock. Then I am very unhappy! Meanwhile the most people in the Squatter Camps know us and they know the places (Tuck Shops, Phone shops ...) where we place the condoms. I and my friends are very happy to do this job, because we know: We help to save life!"
 We want to tell our thanks to MAPA GmbH and condomi health international GmbH for the donation of 1000 condoms! We give also our thanks to rrt Medcon in Durban, South Africa, who told the Health Department to set us on the distribution list of condoms. Unfortunatley they don't deliver the condoms in the squatter aeras. So Sipho and his friends have to fetch them further on.
